Where to begin…well I’m Chris and I am a junior at Lindenwood University where I major in mass communications with my emphasis in radio/TV. I have lived in St. Louis my entire life. Oh right, I nearly forgot I went to Marquette to answer the traditional question from the locals, and likewise with what I believe to be the opinion of many St. Louisans I would not want to live any other place. People are the best of any place I have been and can you beat the sports and food? I think not. Nothing like Cardinals baseball downtown or some awesome toasted ravioli these are small things that give me a love for where I live. Back to sports in a moment, but I suppose I should talk for a moment about my family.
I have a mom and dad (John and Sue), two brothers (Andy and Mike), one sister-in-law (Missy), and twin nephew and niece (Mason and Makenzie). I am definitely into family it is what brings meaning to my life and when I try to pursue something of importance whether difficult or easy; they are always behind me, which I am truly grateful for.
I promise I would return to sports and well here we are. The reason for my majoring in mass communications is to hopefully attain my dream job of becoming a sports broadcaster. I absolutely love sports and nothing would make me happier career wise than to get paid to talk and watch sports for a living I can think of nothing better.
But, that is all about sports generally speaking let me mention a very big part of my life more specific. The Kansas City Chiefs are a HUGE part of what makes me tick. When I was young St. Louis did not have a football franchise (yes, I watched football when I was that young). Without a team in St. Louis I chose to root for the only Missouri team, the Chiefs in KC. Made perfect sense to me, but all my friends make me explain that little story of how I grew to follow my favorite sports team.
I really am a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals too don’t get me twisted, but there is just something special about my relationship and passion for the Chiefs. The fans, the team, the stadium cannot be topped by any other sports franchise. Nothing like the voice of the Chiefs, Mitch Holthus, say “Touchdown KANSAS CITY!”
It is so special to be part of something bigger than myself. Really enjoy cheering hard for my team, especially my two favorite players, Eric Berry #29 and my favorite Jamaal “the JC of KC” Charles #25. I cannot wait for the day when a Super Bowl championship comes to the Chiefs for me to witness.
So yeah that’s me in a short little bit. I am an avid sports fan and a proud St. Louisans.
